Premera Blue Cross Copay Dental Plan: View plans, get quotes, and sign up through this link. (ignore the deadline to enroll as this applies only to Premera’s medical plans not to their dental plans)
- We like the $75 deductible plan, waived for preventative services.
- 12 month wait for “major” services.
- Copays for more than 200 different types of services so you know exactly what you’ll be paying.
- $1000 annual maximum per year (that Premera pays). Plans from Ameritas and Delta have higher maximums, but if your teeth are in good shape, this plan will save you money.
- Great rates based on age so if you are younger you pay less, though the older people’s rates are not bad either.
- We like the “Premium Plan” best as it covers $2000/year of services, but they also have lower cost options.
- No matter what, do not pick the “Clear Plan”.
- 12 month wait for “major” services, unless you have a current Delta Dental plan and apply within 62 days of terminating your current plan.
- Largest network of dentists who agree to be preferred providers, charging you 25%-35% less through their negotiated fee agreement with Delta Dental.
- No missing tooth clause, meaning they will cover a bridge or an implant for a tooth you were missing prior to signing up.
- If you have Delta already and are replacing it with a new Delta plan, make sure to create a new account as your current Log-In and Password will probably not work to start your new plan. Make sure that during the sign up process you choose Delta Dental from the drop down menu under current insurance and input your current policy number.
- We like the 2nd plan of the 4 plans, especially if you live outside of the city of Seattle, where rates are 15% less.
- There is only a 6 month wait for “major” work (crowns, root canals, and implants, etc.).
- Very large network, including Mexico.
- Plans 3 and 4 pay non-network providers at a higher rate than network plans (plans 1 and 2), which is great for those of you who have dentists who aren’t preferred providers with any insurance plan.
- Includes Orthodontia for children under 19 up to $1000 lifetime benefit
